Initial Class 3 (ATCO) Medical

For INITIAL issue of a Class 3 Medical Certificate, applicants must be at least 17 years of age.

As part of the licensing requirements anyone wishing to become an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) will need to obtain a European Class 3 medical certificate as part of the licensing requirements.  The INITIAL medical examination must be carried out at one of the following sites, as quoted from the CAA website:

1. NATS Aeromedical Centre: Swanwick, Hampshire
2. NATS Aeromedical Centre: Prestwick, Ayrshire.
3. London AeMC, 22 Upper Wimpole Street, London W1G 6NB (email: reception@amsgatwick.com or call 01293 775336)

If all medical requirements are met a medical certificate from any of the following sites above will be handed to you the same day.
